The girlfriend of outgoing Newcastle United defender Davide Santon has revealed that her spouse was "pushed out" of the club due to financial issues.
Santon announced earlier today that he is leaving the Magpies to rejoin former club Inter Milan, thanking supporters of the North-East outfit for all their support during his three-and-a-half years at the club.
However, Chloe Sanderson, the Italy international's other half, has had her say on the surprise deal by claiming that she is "disgusted" by the way Newcastle went about things.
"Just to put it out there, Davide declined Inter Milan's first offer but was pushed out by Newcastle United to leave," she said on Twitter.
"Disgusted with how Davide has been treated, fully fit for a while now with no chance to play - a club whose only intentions are to make £££."
Santon has made just one appearance in all competitions for the Toon this season.
