Blackburn Rovers reportedly decide to make an offer in the region of £8m for Nottingham Forest forward Ben Brereton.

Blackburn Rovers have reportedly decided to step up their efforts to sign Nottingham Forest forward Ben Brereton.

The 19-year-old is regarded as one of the top prospects outside of the Championship, with eight goals being scored in 53 appearances at the second tier.

However, the youngster is yet to feature for Aitor Karanka this season as Blackburn look to secure a deal for the England Under-20 international.

According to The Sun, Rovers have indicated that they ready to spend £8m on the attacker after an initial loan deal until January.

Blackburn are aiming to strengthen after earning promotion from League One, but it has been suggested that Forest are looking for a fee in the region of £12m.

Brereton still has three years remaining on his contract at the City Ground.
