Reading manager Brian McDermott insists that he is not worried by the club's critics following their disappointing start to the season.

Reading manager Brian McDermott has insisted that he is not worried by the club's critics following their poor start to the season.

The Royals are currently in 19th place in the Premier League table and are without a win from their opening seven matches.

"I cannot affect speculation and who says what," said McDermott.

"All I know is I've got great staff, my director of football is fantastic and I've got a great bunch of players who do the best they can on a Saturday afternoon.

"What more can we do? That's it as far as I'm concerned."

Reading welcome Fulham to the Madejski Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
