Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has said that 'football is tarnished' by certain crowd incidents.
Ramos's teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored twice in the 2-0 win over Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey semi-final last night, was struck by a lighter thrown from the crowd as he left at the interval.
The Portuguese received treatment by the side of the pitch, but did return to action in the second period.
"We were talking, I can't remember about what, but we were laughing and then I saw it hit him," Ramos told reporters.
"These things tarnish the image of football and measures have to be taken. Don't punish everyone in the stadium, because they should not pay for the sins of one person.
"But with the cameras in today's football you either punish or be left without football coming here and stay at home."
Real Madrid are unbeaten in all competitions since losing to Barcelona at the end of October.
