Sheffield United have confirmed the signing of striker Michael Higdon from Dutch side NEC for an undisclosed fee.
The 30-year-old has moved to Bramall Lane on a two-year deal with the option to extend his stay by a further 12 months.
Higdon, who joined NEC from Motherwell last summer, scored 14 goals in the Eredivisie during the 2013-14 campaign.
"He ticks a lot of boxes, including goalscoring record, experience, as well as being a big lad who can hold the ball up," Blades boss Nigel Clough told the club's official website.
"He scores different types of goals, he uses his left, right and head and we think the crowd will take to Michael."
Higdon began his career with Crewe Alexandra before spells at Falkirk, St Mirren, Motherwell and NEC.
