Report: Southampton weigh up £10m-rated Charlie Austin

Southampton ready a £10m bid for QPR hitman Charlie Austin, according to reports.

Southampton are reportedly weighing up a £10m summer move for Queens Park Rangers hitman Charlie Austin.

Austin, 25, is heavily expected to remain in the Premier League despite Rangers' relegation, having scored 17 league goals this season.

His stock could rise further in the coming weeks after he earned a first England call-up ahead of games with the Republic of Ireland and Slovenia next month.

Saints boss Ronald Koeman is thought to be a fan and the Dutchman will test the waters with a £10m bid, according to The Mirror.

Graziano Pelle has struggled to lead Southampton's forward line as formidably as he did in the first part of the season, netting just four league goals in 2015.

Austin is contracted to the Loftus Road club until 2016.
