Tottenham Hotspur head coach Andre Villas-Boas has described Clint Dempsey as a "massive player" for his team.
The American international joined Spurs from London rivals Fulham towards the end of the summer transfer window.
Having had a few months to judge the 29-year-old's impact, Villas-Boas has expressed his delight at the versatility that he provides.
"[Dempsey] is a massive player for us. He has had a big impact. He scored 17 goals last season so we have to count on him," said Villas-Boas.
"He plays striker, plays wings and plays through the middle so he gives us that option."
Dempsey has scored three goals in all competitions this season.
