New Stoke City winger Xherdan Shaqiri has warned the Premier League that he is not yet at his best after making his debut for the club at Norwich City.
The Swiss winger made an immediate impact as his free-kick set up Mame Biram Diouf to score just 11 minutes into the game, and he is now aiming to score his first goal for the Potters.
He is quoted by The Sentinel as saying: "I'm very happy that I played my first game in the Premier League. We played very good football in the first half and I helped the team to score a goal which was good for me.
"It was my first 90 minutes for a long time – since I played for the national team early in the summer. That was good for me and my fitness. Of course towards the end I was a little bit tired but game by game I will get better and I'm happy to be on the way.
"I was happy to get an assist and hopefully it won't be too long until I get my first goal either."
Stoke travel to play Luton Town in the League Cup on Tuesday.
