Swansea City captain Ashley Williams has said that the signing of Andre Ayew shows that the Premier League club is going in the "right direction".
The 25-year-old Ghana international joined the club last week on a free transfer following an eight-year spell at Marseille.
Williams believed that Ayew's arrival is good news for striker Bafetimbi Gomis, who has taken up the role as lead forward following the January exit of Wilfried Bony.
"It shows that the club is going in the right direction again," BBC Sport quotes Williams as saying. "It's a big signing - he's a good player. We obviously needed some strikers because Bafe is on his own, so we'll definitely welcome [Ayew] to the club."
Ayew has agreed a four-year contract.
