Jurgen Klinsmann: USA will "give everything" to beat Germany

USA coach Jurgen Klinsmann says that his team will "give everything" in order to beat Germany and progress into the second round as Group G winners.

Jurgen Klinsmann has insisted that his USA team will "give everything" in their efforts to beat Germany and seal a last 16 place in the World Cup.

Klinsmann's side were seconds away from sealing a place in the second round, but Portugal rescued a 2-2 draw courtesy of Silvestre Varela's last-gasp header on Sunday night.

A draw in Recife this Thursday would prove enough for the Americans to progress from Group G in second place, but the German coach says that three points is very much on the agenda against his compatriots.

"We have that fighting spirit, and we give everything in every game," he is quoted as saying by FIFA.com. "We will go to Recife and we will give everything to beat Germany. That is our goal."

Thursday's clash kicks off at 5pm.
