Nuno admits Nicolas Otamendi concern

Valencia are believed to be sweating on the fitness of Nicolas Otamendi ahead of Sunday's La Liga trip to Atletico Madrid.

Valencia boss Nuno has revealed that Nicolas Otamendi suffered an ankle injury in Sunday's 2-0 win over Real Sociedad.

The Argentine went down in the latter stages of the first period at the Mestalla after colliding with his own teammate Enzo Perez.

The centre-back was subsequently withdrawn at the break and is now seen as a doubt for Sunday's key La Liga trip to Atletico Madrid.

"The doctors will do their work on him. He's had some pain in his ankle and we weren't looking to force anything," Nuno told reporters.

Otamendi has been one of the league's standout defenders this term.
