Quique Flores has said that it was "impossible" for Watford to secure a win over Southampton in their Premier League clash at Vicarage Road.
The Hornets extended their unbeaten start to the season, holding Ronald Koeman's side to a goalless draw, leaving them 11th in the table.
The manager told BBC Sport: "We tried to win but it was impossible. They changed their plan and it was difficult.
"We had maybe two or three chances. It was difficult to create opportunities because they played well and defended with five players."
Watford travel to league leaders Manchester City next weekend.
