Kenny Jackett "very aware" of job speculation

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Kenny Jackett says that he is "very aware" of the speculation over his role at the Championship outfit.

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Kenny Jackett has admitted that he is "very aware" of the speculation surrounding his position at the Championship side.

The Midlands club's hopes of a playoff push have evaporated in recent weeks after a run of four defeats and three draws in their last seven left them marooned in mid-table.

In recent games some fans have been vocal against Jackett, who guided the club to seventh in the Championship last term and won the League One title the season prior.

"I don't want to project that you don't take any notice or you don't feel it, because you do, on a personal level," Jackett told the Express & Star. "And then after that you've got to work out quickly what you can do about that.

"You're very aware, you don't miss anything. It's not something you can necessarily ignore. But also you are trying to then work out a way to turn things around, turn things positive. And the way is always on the pitch.

"Your next game then becomes massively important, particularly if you have three or four days between one game and another, which invariably you do in the Championship."

Following a 3-0 defeat at Brentford on Tuesday, Wolves welcome promotion hopefuls Derby County to Molineux on Saturday.
