Sir Ian McGeechan is expected to be sacked as coach of Bath within the next 48 hours.
According to The Times, club owner Bruce Craig is losing patience with McGeechan after his huge investment and the coach is set to step aside at the end of the current campaign.
Bath were easily by Northampton Saints on Saturday and are now looking unlikely to make the top six and qualify for next season's Heineken Cup.
Speaking of the defeat, McGeechan said: "They don't deserve that. We were embarrassingly poor and just not at the races. The scoreline could have been a lot worse than it ended up. It isn't good enough and it wasn't acceptable."
The likes of Nick Mallett, Gary Gold, Mike Catt and Toby Booth have all reportedly been targeted to replace McGeechan.
