Fabio Fognini has booked his place in the German Open final thanks to a straight-sets triumph over Lucas Pouille in Hamburg.
The eighth seed will face world number 10 Rafael Nadal for the trophy on Sunday.
Fognini was dominant in the first set as two breaks of the Pouille serve allowed him to take it 6-2.
The Italian was made to work harder during the second as his opponent put up more resistance, but he eventually came through 6-2 7-6(2).
