World number two Maria Sharapova came from a set down to beat Shahar Peer in round two of the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami, Florida.
The Israeli proved too much for her opponent in the first set as she found two breaks of serve on her way to claiming the set 6-4.
As Sharapova found her feet against the world number 55, the Russian snatched a decisive break early on in a tight second set as she won 6-3.
While it had been close in the previous two sets, the Russian dug in to establish a 4-0 lead in the decider.
However, Peer broke Sharapova for the first time in the set as she clawed back the score to 4-3.
Despite Peer's late surge, Sharapova found a final break as she claimed the set 6-3 to reach the next round.
