Quite possibly the most popular Arsenal player ever, Ian Wright was something of a late starter in the professional game but soon made up for lost time with a prolific spell at Crystal Palace.
A club-record move to Arsenal followed in 1991, and a goal on his debut was then followed by a hat-trick on his league debut as Wright gave the Arsenal fans a glimpse of what they could expect over the next seven years.
Wright went on to be the club's top scorer in each of the next six seasons, helping Arsenal to the FA Cup and League Cup double in 1993 before adding a European triumph to his honours list with Cup Winners' Cup glory a year later.
At the time of his 1998 departure to West Ham United, Wright was Arsenal's record scorer with 185 goals in 288 appearances, ending his Highbury career with the Premier League and FA Cup double that season.
