Arsenal have formally lodged a £44.6m bid for striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to a Spanish journalist.
The 26-year-old is the Bundesliga's top scorer this season, with an impressive hit rate of 17 goals in 18 league games for Borussia Dortmund and a further seven goals in European competition.
Writing on Twitter, journalist Kike Marin, who previously broke the news of Alexis Sanchez's move to the Gunners, claimed that an offer of €60m (£44.6m) had been submitted on Thursday morning.
The move would represent a club-record transfer for Arsene Wenger's side, who previously spent a top figure of £38.2m for Mesut Ozil in 2013.
According to the Daily Mail, however, Dortmund have "no interest" in selling their prize asset and the figure offered would have to be closer to the £60m mark.
Liverpool have also been credited with an interest.
