Arsene Wenger has joked about the prospect of signing Frank Lampard amid reports linking the Chelsea midfielder with a switch across London.
Lampard's current Blues contract expires at the end of the season and interim manager Rafael Benitez has hinted that the 34-year-old could leave Stamford Bridge.
Arsenal have been linked with a potential move for the England international in January, but Wenger was coy on the speculation and his transfer window plans in general.
"We are in the country of Socrates. He said 'I know that I know nothing', and that is a bit like football.
"What is important now is to do well until 1st January. What happens in January, we will see if we need to do something and we will do it."
Lampard, who has recently been absent with a calf injury, has made 573 appearances for Chelsea since joining from West Ham United in 2001.
