Rudy Gestede relieved with 'tough' away win at Bournemouth

Aston Villa match-winner Rudy Gestede says that he is "very happy" to score as the Villans recorded a 'tough' win at Bournemouth.

New Aston Villa striker Rudy Gestede has praised his teammates for hanging on to beat Bournemouth on the opening day of the new season.

The 26-year-old scored the only goal of the game as Tim Sherwood's men won 1-0 in Bournemouth's first ever Premier League encounter

Gestede told BBC Sport: "It's not easy to come here and get the three points. I scored a goal so I'm very happy today. Bournemouth played a very good game especially in the first half.

"I had two chances and I scored one. It's not easy to win away, but we take it and we train hard and focus on the next game."

Villa host Manchester United on Friday night.
