Alessio Cerci losing patience at Atletico Madrid

Alessio Cerci admits that he may have to leave Atletico Madrid if his struggles to secure a place in the team on a regular basis continue.

Alessio Cerci has admitted that he may have to leave Atletico Madrid in the January transfer window if he is not given more opportunities by Diego Simeone.

The 27-year-old has spent the majority of his time on the bench since joining Atletico from Torino in the summer, and he has issued a warning to his current employers that he may be forced to look for a new club soon.

"We'll see what happens from now to January with Atletico. If I continue to not play - I didn't go there to not play football," Cerci told Rai Sport after helping Italy record a 1-0 win over Albania on Tuesday night.

"I had a couple of great years as a protagonist at Torino, and those who know me are aware that I struggle on the bench. I lose patience pretty quickly."

Cerci has scored just once for Atletico this season.
