Marcelino: 'Football does not owe me anything'

Villarreal boss Marcelino insists that his side will have to work for a place in the final of the Copa del Rey.

Villarreal boss Marcelino believes that everyone 'has their own destiny' as he prepares to lead his side into the Copa del Rey semi-finals against Barcelona.

The Yellow Submarine have never before appeared in a major final, but Marcelino has insisted that his team will have to work for anything that they gain.

"We all have our destiny. I'm not going to go crazy thinking whether football owes me anything," Inside Spanish Football quotes Marcelino as saying.

"In life I'm very fortunate compared to a lot of people. When I started coaching, I never thought I'd get where I am now."

The first leg will take place at Camp Nou on Wednesday.
