Barcelona's Jordi Alba: "We lose as a team"

Barcelona's 1-0 defeat to Malaga was not the fault of Dani Alves, according to his teammate Jordi Alba.

Jordi Alba has insisted that Dani Alves is not to blame for Barcelona's 1-0 defeat at the hands of Malaga yesterday afternoon.

In just the seventh minute of the contest at the Camp Nou, Brazilian full-back Alves failed to deal with a long ball forward, which allowed Juanmi to pounce and score the only goal of the game.

However, despite that error proving to be a pivotal moment, Alba has insisted that Barca "lose as a team".

"We lose as a team. The play with Alves was just one of those things. That's it," he told the club's official website.

"Dani's handling it like a true professional. The same thing happened to me at [the] Anoeta. It happens to everyone."

Next up for the Catalans is a Champions League clash against Premier League side Manchester City.
