Marc-Andre ter Stegen has vowed to continue working hard in a bid to become Barcelona's undisputed first-choice goalkeeper.
The 22-year-old joined the Catalan outfit from Borussia Monchengladbach last summer and had been expected to become the new number one at the Camp Nou.
Claudio Bravo, however, who also arrived in the summer, has held the gloves for the league games, with Ter Stegen playing his football in the cup competitions.
"I feel very comfortable at this club and hope to have a good time here, although I'm not number one at the moment and it's not an easy situation," he told the Hamburger Morgen Post.
"I was welcomed when I arrived yet nobody puts out the red carpet for you. It would be naive to believe it is easy to be the undisputed number one here but that's my aim.
"It's hard to accept I've spent all season on the bench so obviously I want to play more in the future."
Ter Stegen is expected to start Wednesday's Champions League quarter-final first leg against Paris Saint-Germain.
