Bayern Munich president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has revealed that sacking former manager Carlo Ancelotti was "not pleasant" but insists that the two are still friends.
Ancelotti, who won one Bundesliga title and two German Cups while at the Allianz Arena, was sacked as Bayern boss after a poor run of form which culminated in a 3-0 loss to Paris-Saint Germain in the Champions League.
Jupp Heynckes, who took the German champions to the treble in 2013, was re-installed to try to get the club back on track.
"When I had the conversation on Thursday [September 28] after the Paris match that was of course not pleasant," Rumminegge told reporters.
"At the end he got up then said 'okay, you're not my boss anymore, but you stay my friend'.
"I also have contact with him from time to time."
Bayern have not lost since re-appointing Heynckes as manager, winning six of their seven games and keeping four clean sheets.
