Ronny Deila has revealed that he is "very happy" with Celtic's latest signing Nadir Ciftci, after the Turkish forward made an immediate impact in their 1-0 win over Real Sociedad on Friday evening.
The ex-Dundee United striker came off the bench in the pre-season friendly to immediately link up with former Tannadice teammate Gary Mackay-Steven, who went on to score the game's only goal with 20 minutes left on the clock.
Deila revealed that he is delighted to bring the 23-year-old in, praising him for role against David Moyes's La Liga side.
"I'm very happy to get him in. He showed today what he can add to the team, he's a good football player and he's going to be an important player for us," Deila told Sky Sports News.
"It's going to make us even stronger. We have things we can do from the bench and we have a strong squad and everyone is looking forward to the games.
"Offensively we started without confidence but we grew throughout the game and in the end we created the chances we needed to win. So I'm happy with the performance."
Celtic signed Ciftci from Dundee United on a four-year deal earlier this week.
