Newcastle United are reportedly keen on re-signing striker Demba Ba from Chelsea on a loan deal.
The 28-year-old left St James' Park for Stamford Bridge in January for a reported £7m fee, but has since failed to secure a regular place in the Blues' first team.
Ba's position within the Chelsea squad appears to be bleak following manager Jose Mourinho's decision to leave him out of the travelling party altogether for Monday night's goalless draw with Manchester United.
While Newcastle manager Alan Pardew is said to be keen on bringing Ba back to the North-East for a temporary stint, it is understood that no approach has been made by the club to Chelsea, according to Sky Sports News.
Meanwhile, reports have emerged claiming that Newcastle have re-opened talks with Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis.
