James Harper this afternoon left Doncaster Rovers by mutual consent.
Former Reading midfielder Harper, 33, has not made a single appearance for Donny this year and has been allowed to leave in search of first-team football.
"James Harper played a large part in the club's promotion from League One last season and leaves with the clubs best wishes," chief executive Gavin Baldwin told the club website.
Baldwin added that Harper's departure would free up some more money for Rovers manager Paul Dickov to spend in the transfer window.
