Paul Ince is reportedly being considered for a coaching role under Roy Hodgson at England.

Former England captain Paul Ince has reportedly been approached to join Roy Hodgson as part of the new Three Lions backroom staff.

The 44-year-old, who has been out of work since leaving his managerial post at Notts County last year, is believed to be pondering whether to join the new England setup.

"The appointment would work on several levels," the Daily Star quotes a source as saying. "Paul's knowledge of the game is second to none and would certainly be a sensational addition if Roy's people can persuade him to join the new England setup.

"Paul spent eight years playing for England. He can bring a lot of experience to the England setup and will also have the respect of the players, many of whom will remember his battling performances for the Three Lions."

Hodgson was confirmed as the national side's new coach on Tuesday.
