Germany general manager Oliver Bierhoff has written off his side's chances of winning the 2014 World Cup, describing them as "almost impossible".
The Germans, who beat Kazakhstan 3-0 on Friday, currently lead their qualifying group on 13 points, five ahead of second-placed Sweden.
Despite his confidence of Germany reaching the finals in Brazil, Bierhoff believes that the trophy is likely to be won by a country from the home continent.
"For us, it is almost impossible to win the tournament, it is a really big mountain [to climb]," said Bierhoff. "The South American sides are usually more advanced [in their own continent].
"We are not planning where we will stay in Brazil because we do not know which group we will play in.
"But it would not be in the extreme north or south of Brazil."
Germany host Kazakhstan on Tuesday.
