Ipswich Town striker Michael Chopra has been struggling to beat a gambling addiction, according to The Mirror.
The 27-year-old has suffered with the problem for a number of years and he even seeked professional help when he was a Sunderland player in 2008.
However, the addiction is believed to have resurfaced and has hampered his performances on the pitch for the Blues.
"Chops hasn't been right recently, because he went back to betting," said an Ipswich source.
"It has been a really difficult time for him. It has played heavily on his mind and his football has suffered.
"He hasn't trained properly for a couple of weeks now and he was given a break by the manager to see if it would help."
Chopra joined Ipswich during the summer from Cardiff City.
