Giovani dos Santos has completed his move to Los Angeles Galaxy on a four-and-a-half-year deal from La Liga side Villarreal.
The 26-year-old last week played down rumours that he was on the verge of a move to the MLS champions, but it has now been confirmed that the Mexican's two-year stint with Villarreal has come to an end.
Giovani is understood to have cost the Galaxy a seven-figure fee, although he will not be available immediately due to his ongoing participation in the CONCACAF Gold Cup with his country.
"It's going to be a challenge for him. He's not been at a club yet where he's had those kind of responsibilities," Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena told the LA Times.
"And he's in a community where he is going to be sought after. He's going to have to be mature about it."
Giovani, who previously had spells with Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur, will feature alongside the likes of Steven Gerrard and Robbie Keane in Los Angeles.
