Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has played down suggestions that Liverpool could be in the running for Kylian Mbappe's signature during this summer's transfer window.
The Paris Saint-Germain attacker continues to be linked with Real Madrid, and the Spanish giants are expected to step up their interest in the Frenchman after Euro 2020.
A recent report claimed that Liverpool had approached PSG with an enquiry for the World Cup winner, who will see his current deal in the French capital expire next June.
However, according to Romano, 'there is nothing between Mbappe and Liverpool this summer', with the Reds not contenders to sign him ahead of the 2021-22 campaign.
The 22-year-old scored 42 times and registered 11 assists in 47 appearances for Mauricio Pochettino's side last season, including eight goals in 10 Champions League outings.
Mbappe is believed to be keen to secure a move to Real Madrid in the current market, but Los Blancos will have to sell a number of first-team players in order to afford the attacker.
