Juventus are reportedly planning to offer Liverpool the services of Marko Pjaca in part-exchange for Emre Can next month.
Can, 23, is out of contract at Anfield at the end of the current campaign and has yet to agree terms on a new deal, prompting sustained interest from the Serie A side since the summer.
According to Tuttosport, Juve's latest tactic to convince the Reds to sell in January is to include winger Pjaca in any deal.
The 22-year-old has been with Juve since last summer but has yet to play a single minute for the Old Lady so far this season.
Liverpool are reluctant to lose Can but if negotiations over a new deal fail to move on significantly in the coming weeks they could look to sell or swap him rather than lose him on a free next summer.
Can is said to be seeking a "significant" increase on his current weekly wage of £55,000 under any new deal.
