Reports have suggested that Luis Suarez has a £70m release clause built into his new £200,000-a-week deal with Liverpool.
The Uruguayan forward, who expressed his desire to leave Anfield during the summer, put pen to paper on a new long-term contract last month.
However, The Mirror reports that the 26-year-old will be allowed to leave should the Reds fail to qualify for the Champions League and another club triggers the release.
The same source claims that the Merseyside club wanted the figure to stand at £100m, but Suarez thought that sum to be 'excessive' and did not sign the new agreement until it was lowered.
The former Ajax star has scored 20 goals in 15 Premier League games this season.
