Phil Jones: "Manchester City are still a good team"

Manchester United defender Phil Jones refuses to read too much into Manchester City's recent form ahead of the derby on Sunday.

Phil Jones has insisted that Manchester United cannot afford to take Manchester City lightly when the two sides meet at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils are on a positive run of form, having won their last five Premier League matches in succession, while City have won only six of their 16 outings in 2015.

However, despite the contrast in form, Jones has stressed that City are still capable of causing United problems.

"City are still a good team. We know what they're capable of and the threat they have going forward. They've got some great players in their squad, but so have we," the centre-back told MUTV.

"We've seen in the last few weeks and all season really, what sort of team we can be when we turn up and play our football. Hopefully, we can do that on Sunday as well."

Hosting United go into the derby in third spot, with rivals City, who lost 2-1 away at Crystal Palace last night, a place and a point worse off.
