Stan Kroenke defends Glazer family

Arsenal majority shareholder Stan Kroenke defends controversial Manchester United owners the Glazer family.

Arsenal majority shareholder Stan Kroenke has defended Manchester United owners the Glazer family, saying that United fans should feel lucky.

The Glazers have come under much criticism from some sections of the United support for increasing the club's debt and raising ticket prices.

"The Glazers have won things. And they have increased revenues by a huge amount," Kroenke said.

"If I was a fan of that club, I would go 'wow'. Because how could you do it any better?"

Kroenke also defended the Glazers' choice to pocket money from United, despite their growing debt.

"We have a whole different philosophy in the States. In the States, you would never get this dialogue. Jerry Buss took money out of the LA Lakers. So what?"

Kroenke joined the Arsenal board in 2008 and paid £500m to take control of the club.
