Manchester United have allegedly moved to extend the contract of Eric Bailly, despite the defe0nder's recent injury troubles.
While Bailly's deal was to expire in the summer, there had been suggestions that United may cut their losses with the Ivory Coast international, who has barely featured over the past 18 months.
Just 18 appearances have been made in all competitions, none of which have come this season as the centre-back continues to recover from a serious knee injury.
However, Sky Sports News claims that the 25-year-old is now tied to United until 2022 after club officials opted to exercise an option in his contract.
The report adds that Bailly is closing in on a return to first-team action, with the player potentially in line to feature in the FA Cup fourth round at the end of January.
