Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney will reportedly seek public backing from new manager David Moyes in order to gain the support of the fans.
The England international was booed by some sections of the Old Trafford faithful when receiving his Premier League winner's medal in May, after they had recently discovered that the 27-year-old had handed in a transfer request.
It has been rumoured that Rooney had endured another falling-out with then-boss Sir Alex Ferguson, which led to him being dropped ahead of their crucial Champions League clash with Real Madrid.
However, the change in management does not automatically mean that Rooney will see out the final two years of his contract after clashing with Moyes during their time together at Everton.
Despite this, Rooney is keen to hold talks with his new chief in order to try to win back the United supporters, according to The Telegraph.
