Manchester United will reportedly table a new world-record bid of £109m to land Gareth Bale from Real Madrid next summer.
The Welsh winger moved to the Spanish capital from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013 for a then-record fee of £85.3m, but Louis van Gaal's side are prepared to spend an unprecedented amount in order to sustain a serious title challenge next season, according to French publication Buzz Sport.
United have been linked with a number of big-money transfers in recent months, including Bale's Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona rivals Neymar and Luis Suarez, although Bale is considered the most likely of the group to be tempted away from La Liga.
The 26-year-old was in fine form on Sunday, hitting four times as Los Blancos recorded a 10-2 win over Rayo Vallecano.
