Loic Remy will be given the opportunity to complete a permanent move to Newcastle United in January, according to a report.
The 26-year-old striker is currently on a season-long loan at St James' Park from Queens Park Rangers, who have already agreed a £6m future fee with the Magpies for the Frenchman's services.
However, Newcastle boss Alan Pardew is concerned that the former Marseille forward's good form may prompt interest from other clubs across Europe, and he is keen to tie up a deal as soon as possible.
The Mirror understands that the Tyneside outfit are in a position to match Remy's wage demands, but may find it difficult to persuade him to stay in the North East if other suitors come in for him next summer.
Remy has scored five goals in his last three Premier League games.
