Report: Henri Saivet stalling on Newcastle United move

A report claims that Newcastle United are worried about missing out on the £3m signing of Bordeaux attacker Henri Saivet.

Newcastle United are reportedly sweating on a move for Bordeaux attacker Henri Saivet, with the Frenchman now said to be weighing up his options.

It had been claimed that the Magpies were confident of signing the midfielder within the next couple of days for a figure in the region of £3m.

However, according to The Mirror, Saivet has reservations over the move due to Newcastle's current position in the Premier League table.

The same report claims that Southampton are also interested and could beat Newcastle to the 25-year-old's signature this month.

Saivet, who came through the youth system at Bordeaux, played his youth football for France, but has since won five caps for the country of his birth Senegal.
