USA striker Landon Donovan has set his sights on the CONCACAF Gold Cup title after making his return to the international fold.
The Los Angeles Galaxy forward, who lost his place in the national team after taking a hiatus from football, is determined to prevent Mexico from lifting the trophy for the third year in a row.
"For me, it is just an opportunity and I want to do well," Reuters quotes him as saying.
"I want the team to succeed here, that part for me is the most important. If I do my best and it is not good enough, then so be it. Hopefully at the end of the month, we are lifting a trophy together."
The USA kick off their Gold Cup campaign against Belize in Portland next Tuesday.
