Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic: 'Fitness problems are behind me'

Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic insists that his injury concerns are a thing of the past.

Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic has insisted that his recent injury problems are well behind him.

The 22-year-old Australian has made just 15 appearances for the Scottish champions since arriving in Glasgow from Central Coast Mariners in 2013.

Having spent the first half of last season on loan at Melbourne Victory, Rogic is now happy with his fitness levels ahead of the new campaign.

"It was a bit of a nightmare," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "I don't want to get into it too much. I had a serious groin injury. I feel I've come out the other side of that.

"It was a pretty testing time. I never thought it would be as long as it was. It's hard to put into words, it was pretty difficult. But that's past me now. I just want to be positive and look to the future."

Rogic has won nine caps for Australia since 2012.
