Julen Lopetegui delighted with Porto performance

Porto head coach Julen Lopetegui is eager to congratulate his players following the 3-1 victory over Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final.

Julen Lopetegui has revealed his pride following Porto's impressive 3-1 victory over Bayern Munich at the Estadio do Dragao.

The home side produced a fine display at both ends of the pitch to disrupt Bayern's flow for long spells in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie, and Lopetegui already has one eye on the second leg at the Allianz Arena next Tuesday after lavishing his players with praise.

"It will be a very difficult match, we are still half through this round, against one of the greatest teams in Bayern history," the Spaniard told reporters. "We were great tonight and I want to congratulate this group of players. This team has lots of ambition.

"Playing against Bayern is always difficult, but we made a great start against the greatest team in the world in terms of possession.

"In the first half maybe we should have had the ball with us for longer, but we corrected that in the second half."

Porto will be without both Alex Sandro and Danilo in the second leg after they picked up bookings which will see them serve a one-game suspension.
