Steven Naismith has said that he hopes to help Scotland return to the days when competing in major tournaments was regular practice.
Gordon Strachan's side are currently third in their Euro 2016 qualification group, three points behind leaders Poland with four games left to play.
"You maybe realise how much you took it for granted as a kid, watching Scotland at major tournaments and seeing how great the atmosphere was," the Evening Times quotes Naismith as saying.
"We have a chance to change things back to that and get to these finals. As the campaign goes on, the support has been amazing and that gives you the drive to go again."
Scotland will face Georgia away on Friday before taking on world champions Germany at Hampden Park on Monday.
