Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas believes that referee Mark Clattenburg was wise to award the penalty that saw his team record victory in their opening Premier League match at Selhurst Park.
Roberto Soldado made no mistake from 12 yards out after Crystal Palace defender Dean Moxey was adjudged to have handled the ball inside the area in the 51st minute.
"I have been told it was clear cut, although I haven't seen it again," the 45-year-old told reporters.
"People tell me that just before that shout there was one on Paulinho as well so that's the information I have - that his arm was stuck out.
"Although it doesn't look deliberate his arm is quite some distance from the ball. The referee decided wisely."
Spurs finished outside the top four in the Premier League last season.
