Tottenham Hotspur's Jermain Defoe could face a spell on the sidelines with an ankle injury.
The 30-year-old sustained the complaint during his side's clash with West Bromwich Albion this afternoon which forced him to limp off and be replaced by recent signing Lewis Holtby.
While there has been no confirmation as to the severity of the problem, it is expected to keep Defoe out of England's international friendly against Brazil on Wednesday night.
