Tottenham Hotspur have exercised their right to extend Roman Pavlyuchenko's contract by another year, according to the Russian's agent.
The 30-year-old, whose previous deal was due to expire in the summer, is reportedly unsettled at White Hart Lane due to a lack of starting opportunities.
However, Spurs have chosen to take up the option of lengthening his stay in North London.
"Tottenham, headed by Mr [Daniel] Levy, had the option of extending his contract, and they have done so," agent Oleg Artemov told Russian website Championat.
"They informed UEFA, FIFA and the English FA that they have extended the contract by a year. This happened about two or three months ago, so this is already quite old news."
Reports this morning had linked Pavlyuchenko with a move to Newcastle United.
