Sunderland winger James McClean puts pen to paper on a new three-year contract at the Stadium of Light.

Sunderland winger James McClean has secured a new deal at the Stadium of Light, keeping the 22-year-old at the Premier League outfit until 2015.

The Northern Irishman has impressed manager Martin O'Neill this season, earning 19 first-team appearances and four goals so far in the Black Cats' campaign.

"I'm thrilled to be here," McClean told the club's official website. "I'm really enjoying my football and to have earned a new contract is a dream. I'm over the moon to see my next three years with Sunderland."

O'Neill added: "I'm absolutely delighted that James has committed himself to the club. He's had an explosive start to his career here at Sunderland and long may it continue."

McClean made the switch to the North East from Derry City last summer.
